Can’t thank you enough for your hospitality over the weekend. A memory we’ll keep for a lifetime. Already looking forward to recruiting more folks for a trip in Spring 2010.

Some photos for you. Captured a great sunrise on Saturday morning and couldn’t resist sending a shot of our foursome and of Rusty.  See Photo Gallery

Just wanted to tell you about the wonderful time my son and I had on our recent vacation to the “Great River Road Golf Club”. This was our second year and we are already looking forward to our next trip. Hopefully my other son’s work schedule will allow him to join us as well. Words cannot fully describe the friendliness and hospitality we received. Plus, I don’t think we could have found a better bargain for a golf trip in the country.

The course and relaxed play was perfect for my son to practice his short game & putting. Sure he can hit the ball a ton, but now he knows how to score.

PS. I even have a photo of your sign on my office door, reminding everyone that “Great Days Start With Great Attitudes”.

Thanks again

I first learned about Great River Road Golf Club three years back at a local Chicago golf show and could not believe the deal that Steve was offering. As you can imagine I was VERY apprehensive about the place and the course, but after months of speaking with Steve I was convinced that this deal merited some closer inspection. I took a drive out to the course and have to say I was very impressed. The drive was pleasant and easy enough and the course was surprisingly nice. I would say that the back 9 at Great River Road Golf Club is one of the best I have ever played and the new condos are very nice. Great River Road remains an extremely affordable and laid back golf getaway. We are pleased to work with such a wonderful place and such a great team. We know that you will have fun and enjoy any trip you book to this perfect golf getaway!

We ran into Steve at the Metrodome 5 or 6 years ago. On that day it was very cold in MN and we were just dreaming of golf and new it was a ways off for us. Steve let us know they were golfing that day at his course. Then he told us it was only about 6 hours away. Then he showed us the price list. A small group of us have been going down in March ever since! We had so much fun in the spring, we have a Red House crew going down every August too! The people, the area, the small town attractions, bratwurst and burgers at the turn, the whole package, are unbelievable. Much to the humor of my fellow golfers, I now have a growing collection of geodes from the course. Trying to get a late fall trip in too!

Bob & Barb

Thank you for a nice stay.  We truly enjoyed it and will return.  We took a few pamplets to pass out to friends.  We had a great time.  Wonderful facilites and great golf course.

I have played at Great River Road 2 times  once in Aug of 04 and June of 05. I come down from NW Illinois with Mike (last name deleted) his 3 sons and my father and a assorted crew of other each time and I can say GRRGC is the best damn golf course I have ever been to. And the Big Red House is a good time too. Just what every man needs for the Boys weekend away getaway ever year. I have missed the last couple trips but now I live in Peoria and have told a host of friends about GRRGC and found out today we have a reservation for Fathers Day weekend 09 and I won't miss this one for the world and hopefully can bring some new faces who can experience what is easily the best and cheapest golf trip in the Midwest hands down.

Mike from Chicago

I took two golf trips in 2006, one to Nauvoo and one to Whistling Straits in Koller, Wisconsin. This year I will take (2) golf trips (1) in May and (1) in August. BOTH will be at Great River Road Golf Club in Nauvoo. The small town hospitality and the feeling that you are part of the family there not just a number to be rushed off the first tee is very appealing to me. Keep up the good work! Say hi to Rusty and Mandy! Your golf course dog is the best. Please make that island green bigger!!!! :-)

Darren from Peoria

The Best Value of any golf trip I have ever been on. The course is deceptively tough. I'm a 5 handicap and I never played to that handicap once in 4 tries. The Greens roll true, and I learned my lesson don't miss greens on the short side. Wow, tough rough. all in all nice, we had 8 guys and the lower handicappers struggled, but the shortness of the course was to the higher handicappers liking, and the small town night life was a hoot! Wow too much fun!

Pepper from Eagle River

We have been making a spring and fall trip to Nauvoo before our golf season opens here and after ours closes for several years. We'll have 24 guys this spring and we usually have 8-12 in the fall. I manage our local golf course in EagleRiver and I really appreciate the golf course, the people, the laid back atmosphere, and the whole package! The only thing we do different then the normal group coming to Nauvoo, we turn it into a 6 day adventure, I don't think the TeePee lounge across from the Holiday Inn could survive without seeing us twice a year. See you Masters Week-end this Spring!

Don from Milwaukee

The easiest golf getaway you could ever want to schedule. One call to the golf course all your t-times your hotel reservation, dinner reservations, too nice, too easy. And the price, I've been there enough now know how Steve does it, at first I thought this had to be a time-share lecture, but it's not. It's simply cost less to live in West Central Illinois and Steve is a GREAT HOST and Marketer. Keep up the good work. BUILD more Red Houses, what a treat to hang out on the golf course drink a few beers, grill some steak in our own private yard. NICE!

Vern From Madison, Wisconsin

Way better than I expected. Steve and his staff are always at the Madison golf show talking about, "affordable fun" Me being a salesman jut figured that was their "hook one liner" but after 3 years of the same speech, the same booth, I figured what the heck, the price is right. As I said earlier, it is much better than what you expect! This is a perfect week-ender, and I haven't met too many Midwest people who don't like a good ol fashion fun week-end getaway. Two thumbs up Steve and the crew at Nauvoo.

Kevin from St. Paul

I've seen these bright orange signs at the Metrodome golf show in Late February for at least 8 years, the prices always seem too low for something to be nice. So, me and a buddy tried it in 06, nice! Customer service, attention to detail, and the course was fun to play. We are putting together a group of 8 for a spring trip in 2007.

Gary from New Berlin

A week-end at Nauvoo is like a week-end of tail gating at Lambeau Field. It's a party and if you can't have fun on this package do the rest of us fun loving northerners ~ quit playing golf. Keep up the good work Steve and the staff. I hope Mandy is back running the beverage cart this year!!!!!

Tim from St. Louis

What a treat! We are use to St. Louis or Lake of the Ozark prices. The course is always in better shape, the course is just like Steve says, short tight and tough. I played over 60 courses in 2006, your greens and fairways were in the top 5. I have no idea how you do it so cheap, but I guess you know what you are doing since you have been the owner for 17 years. See you in May!

Betty from Rochester

The perfect course for our group of girls. I don't think there is another course in the Midwest like this one. Yes it's shorter but that doesn't mean easier. WE LOVE IT! Our ladies range from 24 to 61 years old, all 12 of us voted unanimously to make Great River Road Golf Club our annual September getaway. Save that week-day Red House special for us. Good luck Steve and Staff, you are the BEST!

Dick from Lacrosse

I have a group of 12 guys that do the week-day special in the Red House. I could go one for ever about how much fun this trip is. But I don't want to then it might get more crowded. Seriously, the value of the package can not be beat!

Jim from Minneapolis

We have a great time in Nauvoo every spring the last week of April. I bring 8-12 guys from Minnesota to meet the same amount of family and friends from CincinnatiOhio, Believe it or not Nauvoo is real close to right in the middle. What a great week-end. The attention to detail that I expect from a trip that cost 10 times this mush is given to our group by Steve and his staff. I can not imagine a more enjoyable week-end and a more convenient place to meet.

Gary from SturgeonBay

I met Great River Road Golf Club at the Green Bay golf show in 2005. David was working the booth and he guaranteed me a good time. He was right. 2 of us went in 05, the group grew to 8 in 06' we are looking at taking 16 to 20 down in late April of 07. Have those rollers ready. I hope Rusty is feeling better! What a dog. Can you turn the wind machine off on number 10 this year, that hole is hard enough with out a 25 MPH head wind. I'm already looking forward to that tee shot and it's only November!

Derrick from Iowa City

We are use to playing longer courses, but a couple holes into it you realize this short little course is kicking your butt. The second day that continued, after a couple cocktails we were determined to get revenge the third day, again we did not play to our handicaps. The course, the views, the rural setting, it is so nice to actually hit a ball out in real woods with no houses behind those woods! We see you again in June Steve, this year we are bring 20 to 24 guys to tame your course. Have those rollers ready.

Lynn from Lincoln, Nebraska

Simply the best fun and value of any package our group of couple goes on. It's a Labor Day Week-end tradition for us! We can't wait!

Jay from Green Bay

We have our Shooter tour at Great River Road Golf Club every year, check out our web site at www.shooterstour.com. See you Masters week-end 2007! Have those rollers ready. FYI, if you have never had a roller at Great River Road Golf Club, you don't know what you are missing!

The Weber Couples from Beloit

The absolute perfect getaway for Couples The course is short enough that us new golfers to the game can keep up with the more experienced and longer hitting guys. I just wish more Architects would look at this course when they build new ego busting long courses. This course is fun for the average Joe!

Frank and the boys from Wheaton

We met Steve at a golf show in Chicago, his sales pitch was all about FUN. We talked to the boys and said the price is right, we aren't expecting much of a course because it's so cheap, boy were we fooled. The condition of this course is better than 90% of the courses we play in the Chicago area. And fun, I remember Steve saying at the Rosemont golf show " If you can't have fun in Nauvoo check you testosterone levels" or something like that. All the way home we were talking about what a hidden gem Great River Road Golf Club is. See you in June again this year Steve!
